Fields:

Late Medieval East Central Europe; Renaissance; Universities; Conciliarism

My research and teaching have two primary focuses: the Medieval and Renaissance periods in European history, and the history and civilization of the western Slavs (particularly the Poles) and of the Hungarians in these periods. My particular interests are political and intellectual history, especially the history of universities. The institution I have focused upon primarily is the Medieval and Renaissance University of Kraków. A related interest lies in the history of conciliar thought in the late middle ages, especially with reference to the contribution by faculty associated with the University of Kraków.
