USC News Service article

IES is an interactive economics curriculum and international trade simulation.

Economics teachers are supported by the program to include all of their economics classes. The summit training and professional development program demonstrate how to implement the curriculum which integrates into a semester course over 8-10 weeks and culminates in a classroom or school-based simulaton for all economics students.

The joint summit at USC is an opportunity for some students (2-3 teams) to repeat the simulation with the intensity and excitement of a regional competition.

Additional professional development opportunities sponsored by CALIS include USC professors and teaching resources on globalization, controversial trade issues, and challenges to development.

At a USC Boardroom training, teachers from seven counties were the force behind the Southern California launch in 2003
