Dear Students and Young Professionals,
(Professors: Please pass along this information to your students),

You are invited to join in an online conversation on Facebook among the next generation of archaeologists. Our mission is to connect the emerging generation of archaeologists and cultural heritage research specialists now in order to build the relationships that will allow us to initiate radical change in the study of the past while facing the problems of the future. We hope that the relationships formed through these discussions and meetings will prepare us to be more effective archaeologists in the future.

You can choose to participate online only or you can also join us in-person at meetings. We have already had a very successful session at the WAC-Intercongress in Ramallah in August 2009. Future meetings include 7ICAANE London and WAC Vienna, both in April 2010. We look forward to seeing you there for our emerging leaders sessions. (Use the Facebook group to ask questions about logistics). Eventually, we’d like to work the topics into a group-authored publication.

Some translation in English, Arabic, Hebrew and Turkish is already available. We look forward to including not only people like us (both multi-generation and first generation students in the USA and those who have studied in the US, UK, and Europe), but also archaeology students from Israel, West Bank, northern and Greek Cyprus, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Kurdish-speaking students in Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iraq. Anyone is more than welcome to participate.

انتم مدعوون للمشاركة في محادثة عبر الإنترنت بين الجيل المقبل من علماء الآثار من خلال الفيس بوك. حيث ان مهمتنا هي لربط الجيل الناشئ من علماء الآثار والتراث الثقافي المتخصصين في البحث , من أجل بناء علاقات تتيح لنا الشروع في تغيير جذري في دراسة الماضي في الوقت الذي نواجه فيه مشاكل المستقبل.و نحن نامل بأن العلاقات الطيبة من خلال هذه المناقشات والاجتماعات سوف تسمح لنا أن نكون أكثر فعالية كعلماء اثار في المستقبل.

 وحيث يمكنكم المشاركة إما عبر الإنترنت أو عن طريق الانضمام إلينا في الاجتماعات العلمية التي ستعقد بالمستقبل,حيث اننا قمنا بالفعل بدورة ناجحة بعقدنا لمؤتمر الاثريين العالمين في رام الله - اغسطس 2009.
اما بالنسبة للدورات واللقائات الاخرى فهي تشمل:
1- 7ICAANE في لندن.
2-ومؤتمر الاثريين العالمين في فيينا.
 وكلاهما في نيسان – ابريل 2010 , و يمكنكم استخدام مجموعة الفيس بوك لطرح استفساراتكم حول الخدمات اللوجيستية, وكلنا امل ان نراكم في تلك الدورات القيادية.
 بعض الترجمات باللغة الإنجليزية والعربية والعبرية والتركية هي متاحة بالفعل, ولكننا لا نطمح ان نضم الجيل الثاني والجيل الاول من طلاب الولايات المتحدة او الطلاب الذين تلقوا تعليمهم في الولايات المتحدة او بريطانيا او اوروبا فقط , بل جميع طلاب علم الآثار من إسرائيل والضفة الغربية وقبرص اليونانية وتركيا ومصر ولبنان والأردن وأرمينيا وأذربيجان ، والطلبة الذين يتحدثون الكردية في تركيا وسوريا وايران والعراق, وأي شخص اخر هو أكثر من موضع ترحيب للمشاركة.

סטודנטים ואנשי מקצוע צעירים,

אתם מוזמנים להצטרף לשיח וירטואלי בין אנשי דור הארכיאולוגים הבא בפייסבוק. משימתנו היא לחבר כעת בין הדור הצעיר של ארכיאולוגים ואנשי מורשת תרבותית, על מנת לבנות את מערכות היחסים שתאפשרנה לנו ליזום שינוי רדיקלי בחקר העבר תוך כדי התמודדות עם בעיות העתיד. אנו מקווים כי מערכות היחסים שנוצרו בעקבות הדיונים והפגישות הללו יאפשרו לנו להפוך לארכיאולוגים יעילים יותר בעתיד. 

באפשרותכם לבחור להשתתף רק באופן וירטואלי או להצטרף לפגישות פנים אל פנים. כבר הייתה לנו פגישה מוצלחת מאוד בקונגרס ה- WAC בראמללה באוגוסט 2009. פגישות עתידיות יערכו בלונדון - ICAANE7  ובוינה - WAC, שתיהן באפריל 2010. אנו מצפים לראותכם בפגישות המנהיגים הצעירים שלנו (פנו לקבוצת הפייסבוק שלנו על-מנת לברר פרטים נוספים). מטרתינו היא להוציא לאור את נושאי הדיון בפרסום קבוצתי. 

תרגומים ראשוניים לאנגלית, ערבית, עברית ותורכית כבר זמינים; ברצוננו לשתף לא רק סטודנטים כמותנו (סטודנטים ממשפחות אמריקאיות וותיקות או סטודנטים המהווים דור ראשון ללימודים בארה"ב, או סטודנטים שלמדו בארה"ב, בבריטניה או במדינות אירופיות אחרות), אלא גם סטודנטים לארכיאולוגיה מישראל, עזה ומהגדה המערבית, קפריסין, תורכיה, מצרים, לבנון, ירדן, ארמניה ואזרביג'ן, כמו גם סטודנטים דוברי כורדית מתורכיה, סוריה, אירן ועיראק. כל אחד מוזמן בחום להשתתף.
