Building Community: The Ethiopians of Los Angeles
The California Council for the Humanities website is currently featuring a CRCC project on L.A.'s Ethiopian community. The multimedia project explores religious and cultural identity among Ethiopian immgrants through photographs, music, and interviews. Ara Oshagan, Rebecca Haile, and Donald Miller developed the concept. "The project's goal was to hold up a mirror to this community to show the role of religion in preserving Ethiopian culture and how various issues were affecting people's lives," said Miller.To read more and view the project, click here.
