Graduating class of 2006 an honored class
REL Seniors receive top honors. Pictures from the graduation are now available.The 2006 graduating class of religion majors garnered many honors this May. Nicole Kieper, Jesse Levin, Sarah Levy and Anna Maglunog graduated as Renaissance Scholars. Sara Levy received one of ten $10,000 awards to be applied towards graduate school. Renaissance Scholars are students who graduate with a major/minor or two majors that are in widely separated fields of study and who earn an overall GPA of 3.5.
Kate Jackson graduated with honors in Religion. Students complete an additional 4 units of directed research, write an honors thesis and have a 3.5 GPA in their major courses.
Melissa Blaschke was inducted into the Order of Troy. Extraordinary service to the campus community is characteristic of graduating seniors who are selected for the Order of Troy. These students have maintained GPAs of 3.0 or higher while devoting extensive time and energy in service to the university.
Brook Augustin, Melissa Blaschke, Jesse Levin, Crystal Perl and Joshua Wheeler were accepted into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest scholastic honor society, established in 1776 to honor scholarly excellence in Letters, Arts and Sciences.
Sarah Levy was honored with membership in the Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, the foremost national honor society for university seniors recognized for their superior scholarship, outstanding and continual leadership, and dedicated service to the university community.
Melissa Blaschke and Jesse Levin were appointed to the Golden Key International Honor Society. The society’s membership is offered on the basis of outstanding academic achievement to juniors and seniors from any undergraduate discipline.
