Other Sources of Information on Islam

When it comes to placing materials on this website, MSA-USC is committed to adhering to the Qur'an and Sunnah - the only two fundamental sources of Islam. This page is no exception, however it is impossible to control what is placed on other websites. Therefore, to the best of our knowledge, the sites in the list below have demonstrated a clear commitment towards providing information about Islam as defined in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Naturally, a complete search of the World Wide Web ought to turn up many more sites that are worthy of this list, and we encourage people to look for these hidden and not-so-hidden gems.

If you have a site you wish to recommend to include in this list, feel free to email MSA-USC's web team, however please note that the primary purpose of our site is to be a reference tool, and not to be a 'web portal'. If you do recommend a site, we require that you send in a brief description of why you think it should be on this list, especially including evidence of that site's adherence to the Qur'an and Sunnah. We also require that you find at least two other people to recommend the site as well. MSA-USC reserves the right to refuse inclusion on this list, though we certainly hope we do not ever have to exercise this right. MSA-USC is also aware of the requirement and responsibility of being knowledgeable enough to evaluate sites, and we do not claim to be scholars in that respect. However, we do our best, and we pray for the correct outcome. It would help for all of us to keep the following hadeeth in mind - and it is useful for those who develop, recommend, or evaluate:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 450:
Narrated 'Amr bin Al-'As:
That he heard Allah's Apostle saying, "If a judge gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is correct (i.e. agrees with Allah and His Apostle's verdict) he will receive a double reward, and if he gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is wrong, (i.e. against that of Allah and His Apostle) even then he will get a reward ."

We hope our visitors appreciate the precautions we are taking with this process, and we pray that the final result is a list of trustworthy, informative, and well-designed sites that adhere to the Qur'an and Sunnah.

And Allah knows best.
