Meet the Cadre

LIEUTENANT COLONEL GHIA P. SIMMONS

"Lieutenant Colonel Ghia P. Simmons is Commander and Chair, Department of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. She directs operations for a college-level officer training program and is responsible for the education, training, and commissioning of the next generation of U.S. Air Force officers. She instructs a curriculum covering Air Force history, principles of leadership, and National Security Affairs. Lieutenant Colonel Simmons graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas in 1998 and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. She began her career as a logistics officer at Yokota Air Base, Japan. She later transitioned to the intelligence career field and has served in a variety of capacities at the flight, squadron, wing, and joint levels to include deployments to the European and Southwest Asian theaters. Prior to taking command of Detachment 060, she served as an Executive Assistant to the Director for Intelligence, The Joint Staff, Pentagon."

MAJOR ZABRINA HOGGARD

"Major Zabrina Hoggard is the Operations Officer, Recruiting Flight Commander, Education Flight Commander and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Major Hoggard supervises all unit operations, recruiting, and education functions; oversees cadre training and professional development. She leads, recruits, trains, counsels and evaluates 45+ highly qualified young men and women as prospective AF officers. Additionally, she supervises cadre and all detachment activities; represents and acts on behalf of the commander in their absence. She is responsible for the construction, management, and execution of all unit recruiting efforts. Major Hoggard instructs a curriculum covering Foundations of the USAF, AF History, Leadership and National Security Affairs. Major Hoggard is a 1996 graduate of Elizabeth City State University. She was commissioned through Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL in November of 1998. Her military career covers a wide variety of assignments, including HAF and SAF tours, recruiting, test and evaluation, military acquisitions, education and training, and scientific analysis. In 2012, Major Hoggard deployed to Afghanistan. While deployed she served as the Afghan National Police Deputy Team Chief, Regional Support Command-East, NATO Training Mission Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom."

CAPTAIN LUKE N. DINH

"Captain Luke Dinh is the Operations Flight Commander and an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. In this capacity, Captain Dinh leads, recruits, trains, counsels and evaluates 45+ highly qualified young men and women as prospective AF officers. He is the liaison between the detachment commander and the cadet wing. He mentors cadets through aggressive unit training program. He directs and supervises leadership laboratory, cadet military field training and provides military discipline and career guidance. Captain Dinh instructs a curriculum covering Foundations of the USAF, AF History, Leadership and National Security Affairs. Captain Dinh entered the Air Force in 2009 as a graduate Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp, Detachment 040 Loyola Marymount University. He has served as a Space Systems Operator, Payload System Operator, Senior Instructor, Chief of Operations Training, and Space Situational Awareness Flight Commander. Prior to his current assignment he functioned as Flight Commander, Space Situational Awareness, 17th Test Squadron, Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado. As Flight Commander he over saw the Test and Evaluation process for United States Air Force, Joint and Allied space programs on behalf of Air Force Space Command."

SENIOR MASTER SERGEANT GLEN S. JIMENEZ

"Senior Master Sergeant Glen S. Jimenez is Acting Superintendent, Commanders Support Staff, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Detachment 060 has crosstown agreements with more than 50 schools across Southern California. He is a reservist assigned to the Space and Missile Systems Center Commanders Action Group, Los Angeles AFB, California where he serves as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA). He serves as a senior enlisted advisor to the commander on matters influencing the IMA program and the health, morale, training, readiness, quality of life and effective utilization all assigned reserve personnel. SMSgt Jimenez entered the Air Force in 1986 and served until 1993 when he transitioned to the Air Force Reserve. He has over 29 years’ experience with assignments to Texas, Washington, Michigan, Georgia, California, Germany, Italy, Japan, Argentina, and Suriname in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Infinite Justice, Desert Shield/Storm and Southern Watch. Jimenez’s career highlights include volunteering to backfill the United States Military Liaison Office, U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname. His background includes various duties as a security International Police Officer, Desk Sergeant, Patrolman, Entry Controller, Unit Career Assistance Advisor and Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge of the Commander Support Staff. While serving as the Inspector General Assistant for the 452d Air Base Wing, March Air Reserve Base, Calif., Jimenez deployed as the Enlisted Aide to the Director of Air Mobility Forces, Combined Air Operations Center, Al Udeid Air Base in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Horn of Africa."

TECHNICAL SERGEANT GEORGINA M. BULMER

"Technical Sergeant Georgina M. Bulmer is the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Administration, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Detachment 060 has crosstown agreements with more than 50 schools across Southern California. Technical Sergeant Bulmer entered the Air Force 1 March 2000 in Great Falls, Montana. Technical Sergeant Bulmer graduated Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, TX in April 2000. From there she went on to technical school and graduated the Information Management Course at Keesler AFB, MS. She has served in a variety of Information Management and Client Administrator Support positions at various levels. Technical Sergeant Bulmer has served as Information Manager for 321st Expeditionary Group Masirah Island, Oman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She has also deployed support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 332d Air Expeditionary Wing, Balad Air Base, Iraq."

TECHNICAL SERGEANT TRINITY L. DRUMMOND

"Trinity L. Drummond is the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Personnel, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 060, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Detachment 060 has crosstown agreements with more than 50 schools across Southern California. Technical Sergeant Drummond entered the Air Force in November 11, 2003 at Fort Meade, Maryland. From there she went on to technical school and graduated the Personnel Craftsman Course at Keesler AFB, MS. She has served in a variety of Personnel positions at various levels. She is a Personnel Manager, and has served on the Personnel Support for Contingency Operations Team (PERSCO) at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom."
