"The Struggle for an Independent Media in Mexico: A Model for Other Countries?"The workshop led by Murray Fromson, Professor of Journalism, discussed the role of a potential free press in Mexico and the use of alternatives to the main stream press as a means to liberate the Mexican society from governmental control. The group also discussed the increased use of satellite dishes, television, and radio as tools to reach more people and create a more civil society where human rights are respected.
