Two Week: July 3 to July 17

Cost: $2,035

Building upon the first week of instructions, the second week provides a more in-depth exposure to specific architectural design issues through a series of brief "charettes" (fast paced problem solving exercises) under the supervision of recognized experts in each given field of study. Students will deal with issues of structure, computer applications, landscape and natural forces as well as issues of human dimensions through furniture design and freehand drawing. To further enhance the student’s knowledge of the rich architectural history of Los Angeles, extended fieldtrips will be made to projects designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Rudolf Schindler, Green and Green, Charles and Ray Eames, and Frank Gehry.
