M.F.A. (Cinema Production), University of Southern CalfforniaAmy Murphy works concurrently in the professions of architecture and film. She has worked in architectural offices in both Boston and Los Angeles since 1987 and has completed 4 film projects since 1992.
At present, Amy is on the advisory council of the Filmforum, Inc., Los Angeles' oldest non-profit organization dedicated to independent, avant-garde and experimental films. Along with teaching, Amy collaborates with other Los Angeles architects on specific projects, and is planning future film work.
Her architectural work has been exhibited in New York, Des Moines, Providence and Los Angeles. Her films have shown in several US film festivals.
She has taught architectural design and drawing at Iowa State University and the Boston Architectural Center, as well as USC.
