Theodore A. Kramer House
South Pasadena, California

In 1918, Henry Greene was hired by Theodore A. Kramer to complete a planting plan for the garden adjacent to his house as well as alterations to the late-Victorian residence itself. The planting plan called for over 150 different plant materials, and the garden plan included furniture, a pergola, arbor, and other designs such as a mirrored gazing-ball and a vine-shaded bench. Henry used a rigid geometry for the lawns and pathways nearest to the house, but the adjacent area to the north had a more naturalistic flow with winding paths, water features, and rock outcroppings, all under the shade of large old oak trees.
