The MBS program at USC received equipment grants from the National Science Foundation for a research lab with computers and testing equipment. This and other facilities include:

• Extensive computer facilities at the university are augmented by a specific lab for the MBS program
• A comprehensive library
• Computer-controlled electro-dynamic seismic shaker table
• Static model test stand / instruments
• 30 foot wind tunnel
• Electric heliodon for sun simulation
• Machine shop for model building
• Photo lab with lighting and dark room
• Mirror Sky for testing Day lighting models
