Reuse not only requires far less energy than recycling, but also preserves the cultural and historic value inherent in used materials.

Select non-toxic wood finishes, such as water-based urethanes.

Adhesives can be a problem for the indoor air quality. Low-VOC adhesives has to be selected for gluing wooden floors.
