The Technological Landscape
In these gardens, we expose the process of water reclamation, tap solar energy, and turn waste into fertilizer. We harvest water by restoring vernal pools and collect rainwater in temporary ponds. We locate water drainage bio-filtration systems within industrial zones in combination with raising ducks and geese. We design solar farms along transportation routes and as shading devices over our asphalt deserts and parking structures. Wind mills, already part of our landscape, are also present here, permitted for private use.
The public is invited to come to learn and, and through this experience, hopefully to change our esthetic sensibilities. These gardens should encourage improvements in available technologies and begin to implement the process of relying on renewable energy sources.
