SAAS Positive Point Leaders

Student-Athlete Academic Services has a point system in place for those athletes who use our facility for Tutorial services and/or Study Hall. Positive Points are awarded to those athletes who demonstrate an ability to exceed what is required of them during Tutorial or Study Hall. The Positive Point Reward Levels are listed at the bottom of this page.

Ways to earn positive points:

  • Extra study hall time

  • Sunday study hall

  • Good effort in study hall or tutorial

  • Perfect score on a quiz (must show tutor or advisor)

  • Grade of “B” (80%) or better on an exam (must show tutor or advisor)

  • Perfect week (no missed class or tutorial)

  • Good progress report from instructor

  • Be awarded student-athlete of the month (3 positive points)

Positive Point Reward Levels:


5 points: (Automatic Award) Notebook, Nice pen, or Mechanical pencil

10 Points: Jump drive / Memory Stick (size 128MB)

15 points: Magazine subscription or book bag

20 points: iPod voice recorder adapter

25 points: Jump drive / Memory Stick (size 256MB)

40 points: Nike Trojan sports watch

50 points: iPod alarm clock

Be Aware of the Following:
  1. At 5 positive points you will be contacted by your academic advisor to pick up your first reward. Thereafter you have the option to receive your reward at any of the next levels or you can wait and continue to accumulate positive points to obtain an award at a higher point level.
    Example: A student who earns 40 positive points can get
    1) A jump drive (128 size) and two magazine subscriptions
    OR
    2) Two jump drives (128 size) and an iPod voice adaptor
    OR
    3) A Nike Trojan sports watch.


  2. You can collect your rewards in any manner you choose based on your positive point level. The more positive points the more reward options you have.


  3. You cannot get an award if you have over 5 negative points.
