In 1970, Dr. Arthur C. Bartner took a pay cut from his job as the Davison High School band director in Flint, Michigan to come west and take the reigns of the USC Trojan Marching Band. This football season will be Dr. Bartner’s 40th year as director of the organization. A marching band that numbered 50 at his first band camp has now grown to be the largest student organization on campus with a resumé the rival of any college band. |
