The Graduate Student Feminist Network (GSFN) is an organization working towards creating a supportive community of graduate students and professional students dedicated to increasing the visibility of feminist aspirations. GSFN is currently planning events and meetings for the rest of the 2002-2003 academic year. Upcoming events include general meetings on November 6 and 20, both at 7:00 in Taper Hall 335 and a reading discussion group (November 11, 2002, at 7pm, Taper Hall 335). Interested members will read and discuss excerpts from "Is Multiculturalism Bad for Women?" by Susan Miller Oaken and "Shattering the Myth of Women in Academia" by Judith Glazer-Raymo.

Next semester, GSFN will be holding two faculty dinners, where a USC professor will join us for an informal dinner/discussion about being a feminist in academia. Dates and speakers to be announced. Other events for 2003 include another feminist reading group with a new set of readings, as well as participation in an event focusing on Title IX.
Please join us at our meetings! The remaining general meeting for the fall semester is Wednesday, November 20th at 7pm. All meetings in Taper Hall 335. For further information, please contact Jaime Lester or Katherine Kobylak.
