A goal of this meeting was to have a strong representation of the biomedical aspects of phosphorus chemistry. In addition to a general bio-organic/medicinal chemistry session, sessions were devoted to:
As in previous ICPC' s, the major portion of the conference consisted of contributed presentations in various aspects (synthetic, structural and mechanistic) of organophosphorus chemistry. Minisymposia included:
The proceedings (plenary lecture, oral presentations, long poster
abstracts) were published in 1996 in volumes 109-111 of
Phosphorus, Sulfur and Silicon and the Related
Elements (Gordon & Breach, Publishers).
The conference was concerned with many aspects of phosphorus chemistry:
Besides the usual topics discussed in previous conferences,
emphasis was placed on phosphorus biochemistry, calcium-phosphates,
condensed phosphates, polyphosphazenes and industrial applications of
phosphorus.
The proceedings (oral presentations, long poster abstracts) were
published in a special issue (vol. 74) of Phosphorus, Sulfur and
Silicon and the Related Elements (Gordon & Breach,
Publishers).
