Conference Proceedings

[Last update: 6/20/98. See new note on submitting manuscripts and comment on Web publication below.]

The proceedings of the XIVth ICPC will be published in a special issue of Phosphorus, Sulfur and Silicon by Gordon and Breach Scientific Publishers. Oral presentations will be allotted 4 printed pages; poster presentations, 1 printed page. Manuscripts must be submitted as camera-ready copy (CRC) for direct reproduction (no galley proofs). Instructions for the preparation of papers have already been sent to authors of accepted abstracts by the Publisher (end of April). Please refer all questions regarding manuscript preparation and the Proceedings to Mr. Michael Luby, In-house Editor, PSSi, (215) 750 2642 ext. 116 [country code 1], email: mike.luby@gbhap.com.

Publisher's instructions for the preparation of manuscripts are now available on this page in PDF format (use Adobe Acrobat Reader - free copy). The PDF files are 300 dpi and can be printed on a laser or other high resolution printer. For screen viewing, increasing the Reader to 150% or 200% magnification may give best results, depending on your monitor and browser.

Notes (see Publisher's Letters)

  1. Poster or Oral Authors may use 1.25 line spacing (based on 6 lines/inch; = 15 points/inch) as an option to single- or 1.5 line spaced text in their manuscripts
  2. Poster or Oral Authors need not use the Publisher's special blue-lined paper to prepare their manuscripts as long as the manuscript format guidelines are followed. However, the enclosed Copyright Form must be completed and submitted with the manuscript.
  3. Poster Authors: to gain more space for your text, you may omit the Abstract, Key Words, and Headings shown in the example.
  4. The Editors reserve the right to reject improperly prepared manuscripts
  5. The Publisher is committed to placing the Conference Abstracts on-line at http://www.gbhap.com/abstracts/mgcn/253-toc.htm. Please note that the current target for publishing the abstracts on-line is during or after the week of July 13, 1998.
  6. We do not require copies of manuscripts on diskette, however we will accept diskettes in PC or Mac format clearly labeled with authors' name and abstract number containing manuscripts in ready-to-print form as Microsoft Word 6 document files. These do NOT take the place of your camera-ready copy, however they will facilitate any corrections if necessary.

Web Publication of Oral Slides and Poster Panels

After the Conference, we may publish, by invitation, a few selected presentations on this Website, as a technical demonstration. However, we have decided that all presenters who are interested in this technology may submit to us for consideration their lecture slides or poster panels in the following obligatory format: PC or Mac diskette labeled with author's name and abstract #, containing the slides in Microsoft PowerPoint 4 format. Diskettes will only be accepted at the Conference, please do not mail. The decision to publish submitted slides is reserved to the ICPC Secretariat.
