Results and Implications

At the conclusion of the study we offered a comprehensive and integrated understanding of what program components and activities increase the chances that students who are involved in academic outreach programs will be college ready. The project resulted in articles, presentations, working seminars and a book that evaluated the criteria for effective college preparation programs. The project's theoretically informed, action based findings provided valuable resources for individuals who work or study in college preparation programs and for prospective funders intent on assessing program effectiveness.
