  • Location & Travel Info:

The 4WCSCM will be held on the campus of the University of California, San Diego, which is in La Jolla, a north suburb of the city of San Diego. The plenary and parallel sessions will all be in the Price Center. A map of the UCSD campus is available at http://maps.ucsd.edu/.

Air Travel: The most convenient airport is the San Diego International Airport (SAN), located about 13 miles south of the UCSD campus. Some may wish to fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is about 110 miles north of UCSD, or the John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA), which is about 75 miles north of UCSD.

Ground transportation from the San Diego airport: A taxi from the San Diego airport to the UCSD campus is about $40-$45; rates to the hotels in La Jolla should be similar. Less expensive but slower options are shuttle vans (price unknown) or public buses ($2.50).

Parking at UCSD: Parking on the UCSD campus costs $6/day; the Gilman Parking Structure is located about 0.2 mi (300 m) from the Price Center. Parking permits can be purchased online from the UCSD bookstore or in person at several locations on campus (some only available on weekdays):

    • in Gilman Parking Structure on level 2
    • at the Gilman Visitor Information Center (a main entrance on the south side of campus; on Gilman Drive just north of La Jolla Village Drive),
    • at the Northpoint Visitor Information Center (a main entrance on the north side of campus; on Northpoint Drive, just east of North Torrey Pines Road) and
    • at several other places on campus (see the relevant web page on the UCSD website for more information).
