Master's Programs



Program Requirements
  • MS in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering
    • 27 units of course work.
    • Can be completed in one academic year:
      • Typically, two semesters plus a summer session.
      • Additional time needed when extra courses are required to satisfy prerequisites or other requirements.
  • MS with 30 or 33 units may require three semesters
  • The last four units must be completed at USC.
  • Four units transferred from another engineering school can be approved for credit by the Department.
  • Two thirds of the units must be taken at the 500-level or above.

Admission Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited American college or university, or from a foreign institution of acceptable standing. 
  • A mininum grade point average of 3.0
  • GRE scores
    • Applicants to all Master programs (minimum quantitative score of 650)
    • Applicants to Master of Construction Management may also substitute GMAT scores for GRE scores (minimum GMAT score of 650)
  • A minimun of two letters of recommendation is required for Master programs
  • A statement of purpose.
