Mr. Hill has been the Laboratory Manager for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since April 2000. Prior to that, he was employed by TRW, Applied Technology Division in Redondo Beach, CA, where he was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff from 1980–1998 and worked on projects such as the Healy Clean Coal, Airborne Laser & Tactical High Energy Laser, Coal-fired Slagging Combustor development, Coal-fired Magnetohydrodynamic Combustor development, China Slagging Combustor Technology Transfer agreement, Various Low NOx Burner development programs for solid, liquid, gas fossil fuels, synfuels, hybrid fuels, Ultra Low-Cost Engine (450klb LOx/LH2 Rocket Engine), and ERIS kinetic energy weapon. He also worked at Southern California Edison Company, Research & Development, during the Summer of 1977 and 1978.
