Professor Marvin is a licensed architect in California, New Mexico and Illinois and an NCARB member.  Both architectural degrees are fully utilized in his position of Director of Construction and Manager of Quality Control at the firm where he works.  His department is responsible for the construction of all of the firm's projects and he also performs pre-bid Quality Control reviews, necessitating knowledge of all the engineering disciplines.

At USC he serves dual roles as adjunct faculty, alternating between the Department of Civil Engineering where he teaches Advanced Building Estimating, and the School of Architecture where he teaches Building Systems.
