Biographical Information

Ed Reynolds has a diverse background in engineering and construction.  After summer jobs with a pipeline design company and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Reynolds moved to Houston, Texas for a few years to work in the marine division, structural design group of Brown & Root.   During his summer at Harvard, Reynolds worked in London, England for a Dutch heavy lift marine contractor called Heerema.  After Harvard, Reynolds went to work for Bechtel Enterprises in their development group where he worked on 48 different project financings.  The last financing was in the environmental arena.  He went for work for a company called Applied Geosciences and helped the company grow from 16 to over 125 employees in a little over two years. 

Reynolds co-founded his present company, The Reynolds Group, formerly Cardinal Environmental Consultants, in 1989.  The company has grown over the years and performs work in California and Latin America.  Reynolds serves or has served on the Boards of many organizations:  TRG Mexico S de RL,  Ventana North American Environmental Fund (a $50 million venture capital fund),  Board of Councilors for the School of Engineering at USC, Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the USC Civil Engineering Department,  Vice Chairman of the Lay Construction Advisory Board to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Orange, and the Board of Directors of USA Water Polo, Inc.

Reynolds enjoys aquatics sports and recently was part of the first team to swim from Santa Barbara Island to the Southern California mainland, a distance of more than 40 miles.
