Mr. Hill has been the Laboratory Manager for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since April 2000. He also manages the instructional and departmental computer systems, and safety-related issues for the Department.
Prior to joining USC, he was employed by TRW, Applied Technology Division in Redondo Beach, CA, where he was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff from 1980–1998 and worked on projects such as the Healy Clean Coal, Airborne Laser & Tactical High Energy Laser, Coal-fired Slagging Combustor development, Coal-fired Magnetohydrodynamic Combustor development, China Slagging Combustor Technology Transfer agreement, Various Low NOx Burner development programs for solid, liquid, gas fossil fuels, synfuels, hybrid fuels, Ultra Low-Cost Engine (450klb LOx/LH2 Rocket Engine), and ERIS kinetic energy weapon. He also worked at Southern California Edison Company, Research & Development, during the Summer of 1977 and 1978.
