During the staff recognition program on April 11, 2007, President Sample congratulated Tessie Jamanila, the business manager of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, for her 30 years of service at the University of Southern California. Tessie Jamanila has been with the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since July 1996. Born and educated on the Philippines, she first joined USC in 1974 as a master student in the Annenberg School of Communication. After having completed her Master’s degree, she worked as an accounting clerk in the Engineering Financial Office under the direction of Dean Kaprielian. She was an assistant financial director in the Engineering Financial Office before she joined the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. Tessie holds a certificate in management effectiveness from the Marshall School of Business in 1996. Her Daughter Tricia graduated in May 2007 with a major in political sciences and a minor in global communication.
