On February 7, 2006, Kimberly Pacheco received the top SEAOSC Students award - the Margaret Narver Memorial Scholarship Award and a $2500 check. The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) is a professional organization of Civil and Structural Engineers which also includes affiliated construction industry members and students. SEAOSC is a member organization of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC). Eleven engineering schools from Southern California competed for the top award including Caltech, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long beach, Cal State Poly, Cal State Pomona, Cal State San Luis Obispo, Cal State LA, UC Irvine and UCLA.
Kim Pacheco is a Junior in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a major in Structural Engineering. Originally from San Luis Obispo, she joined USC in 2004 as a Presidential Scholar, a Viterbi merit researcher and a Viterbi merit scholar. She is the co-captain of the ASCE concrete canoe team, and the AGC vice president and co-social chair. Kim is a Viterbi student ambassador, a member of Chi-Epsilon and Alpha-Lambda-Delta, and member of the USC club water polo team. Kim is also an intern at John A. Martin Associates, a leading firm in Structural Engineering.
