Flying to Newport Beach

The best option for those flying to Newport Beach is to fly to the John Wayne (Orange County) Airport (airport code SNA), which is less than 5 miles from the conference hotel. The major US carriers have direct flights from many US cities (New York, Chicago, Seattle, etc.). From the John Wayne Airport to the Marriott, you may use the Marriott's shuttle (the Marriott shuttle schedule is here). If you are driving yourself, see the Driving Directions below.

Alternately, you may fly into Los Angeles International Airport (airport code LAX), which is about 45 miles from Newport Beach. To get from LAX to Newport Beach, try:

• VIP Xpress will offer van service directly to the Newport Beach Marriott for 1 to 7 people for a flat fee of $65. Call +1 (888) 511-4847 for reservations and identify yourself as being part of the ICOSSAR group.
• Alternately, SuperShuttle (tel: +1 (310) 782-6600) vans leave LAX regularly, but are shared van rides, so there may be multiple stops on your way to Newport Beach. The approximate cost to Newport Beach is $22 per person. Claim your luggage, then step out to the van stop at the outer island, look for a SuperShuttle sign, and talk with the SuperShuttle employee there.

From John Wayne Airport - Orange County (SNA):
Go south (~2 miles) on MacArthur and turn right (south) on Jamboree road.
Go south on Jamboree Road (~2 miles) and turn left on Santa Barbara Drive.
The Marriott will be on the right (0.45 miles) at the top of the hill.

Go south (~35 miles) on the San Diego Freeway (I-405)
to the San Joauin Hills Toll Road (CA-73). Go south (~3 miles) and
