Conference Site

The 8th ASCE Specialty Conference on Probabilistic Mechanics and Structural Reliability will be held at the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Notre Dame. Founded in 1842, Notre Dame is a Catholic University offering undergraduate, graduate and professional programs to 10,000 students. Notre Dame's cutting edge research programs cover a broad spectrum of disciplines and build upon her long-established reputation for excellence in undergraduate education. Situated on beautifully landscaped grounds and the site of the famous "Golden Dome", the University offers a scenic multi-cultural environment for students, faculty and guests.

The registration fee may be paid via credit card, check, or money order in US dollars. Please fill out the appropriate information on the registration form.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Refund of registration will be granted to those who cancel their registration prior to July 5, 2000. A $15.00 processing fee will be charged for each cancellation.

Limited blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved for conference participants:

The Morris Inn and the dormitory rooms are within a short walk from the conference center. Shuttle service is available from the Inn at Saint Mary's and from the Marriott to the conference center. All hotel reservations must be made through the Center for Continuing Education at Notre Dame by using the registration form.

Transportation

The University of Notre Dame is located approximately 5 miles from the Michiana Regional Airport in South Bend, Indiana, and about ten minutes from intercity bus and train service from downtown Chicago.

Several major airlines serve South Bend with jet as well as commuter services. Your travel consultant can help you plan your itinerary, keeping in mind that the conference lodging accommodations are available from July 23 through check out on July 27.

Guest Program

No formal guest program is planned. However, a list of activities and attractions in the Notre Dame and South Bend area will be on the Conference web site in the coming months.
