Objectives

The fourth international Conference on Stochastic Structural Dynamics will be held at the University of Notre Dame on August 6 - 8, 1998. This will mark the tenth year since the Conference was first organized at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaignon the occasion of Professor Y. K. Lin's 65th birthday. Since then, the Conference has become one of the most prestigious scientific meetings of the Stochastic Mechanics community.

This conference will bring together researchers involved in Stochastic Mechanics, Random Vibration, Stochastic Processes, Structural Reliability, Stochastic Control and related fields throughout the world. An edited proceedings of full length papers will be published. Contributions from all areas of Stochastic Mechanics are welcome. Further details and format for the papers will be forthcoming.

The following topics provide a guide for possible contributions:

  • Random Vibration of Structural/Mechanical Systems
  • Stochastic Wave Propagation
  • Random Data Analysis
  • Non-Gaussian Response Analysis
  • Stochastic Stability and Bifurcation
  • Stochastic Finite Element Methods
  • Stochastic Control
  • Stochastic Damage Control and First Passage Problems
  • Stochastic Analysis of Vibro-Impact Problems
  • Stochastic Modeling of Fatigue
  • Nonlinear Stochastic Differential Equations
  • Applications in Earthquake Engineering
  • Reliability of Ocean Structures
  • Stochastic Modeling of Environmental Loads
