【索取賠償】

敬啟者,
本公司十月三十一日向貴公司訂購的一批銅管樂器已於昨天運
達,但貨物質量令我方大為失望。該貨遠未達本公司要求,其光
澤暗淡,而非明亮奪目,毫不引人喜愛。因為這批貨物毫無用處,
本公司不打算銷售,唯請貴公司將貨物收回。
請將本公司所訂購的那種貨物運來,至於退貨如何處理,望告。

Dear Sirs,
Your shipment of Brass Wind Instruments ordered by us on October 31,
arrived yesterday and greatly disappoints us. They are not what we want,
having a dull finish instead of a bright one, and are very unattractive. We
shall not try to sell them, for they would not be of any use. You will have
to take them back.
Send us the kind we ordered and let us know what disposition to make
of these.

本公司十月十五日運給貴公司之銅管樂器,令貴公司失望,深感抱歉。
顯然本公司倉庫人員未作檢查就把貴公司的貨物包裝了。否則,本公
司就不會收到貴公司的提訴信件了。
請貴公司裝運退回此品。對此本公司非常抱歉。本公司將不待退貨到來,
即將另一批完好的銅管樂器發出,以更換這批此品。
希望本公司人員的疏忽,未給貴公司帶來很大不便。

Dear Sirs,
We are sorry that we have caused you disappointment in regard to the
shipment of Brass Wind Instruments we sent you on November 15. It is evident that our warehouse men caused your goods to be packed without having
examined them, otherwise we would have received no complaints from you on
the subject.
We regret that you have been put to the trouble of repacking and
returning the rejects, and without waiting for the package, we have sent to
you another shipment of perfect goods to replace those.
We trust that you have not been seriously inconvenienced through the
carelessness of our employees.

感謝貴公司迅速運送本公司九月二十四日訂購的可可豆,但
本公司發現僅有 485 噸運抵本公司,而本公司訂貨為 500 噸。
為證實本公司所述情況,隨函附上上海商檢局檢驗證書一份。
根據檢驗證書特提出索賠,總額 5,000 英鎊。
本公司相信貴公司將對本公司的索賠要求以最有利的考慮,
並希望及早理賠。

Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your promptness in delivering the Cocoabean we ordered
on 24th Septmber, but find that only 485 tons of the same were delivered
whereas our order was for 500 tons.
To support our statement, we enclose one copy of Inspection Certificate
from Shanghai Commodity Inspection Bureau. On basis of the Inspection
Certificate, we hereby lodge our claim with you for Stg. 5,000 in all.
We are sure that you will give our claims your most favorable
consideration and look forward to your settlement at an early date.

提出了索賠。
經本公司人員檢查,發現部份口袋在運輸途中破損,致使貨物
短缺。因此,本公司如數接受貴公司索賠。隨函附上第 1234
號支票,金額 5,000 英鎊。
此事給貴公司帶來了麻煩,本公司深表歉意,並向貴公司保證我
方將採取一切必要措施防止今後在與貴公司的交易中發生類似事件。

Dear Sirs,
We have received your letter of Oct. 25, with enclosure, claiming for
a shortage in weight on the consignment of Cocoabean.
After a check-up by our staff, we found that some bags were broken
during transit and the breakage resulted in the shortage. We therefore
accept your claim as tended and enclose our check No.1234 for Stg. 5,000.
We apologize for the trouble caused to you and would like to assure
you that we'll take all necessary steps to avoid any recurrence like this
in our future dealings with you.
