Thorsten Becker received an Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from the National Science Foundation in recognition of his great potential in the field of geophysics.
Charlie Sammis has been named Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (AGU)
USC, led by principal investigator Kenneth Nealson, received a grant up to $10 million to support the development of bacteria-powered fuel cells and tracking systems over five years. +more

received the "Outstanding Student Paper Award" from the Seismology
Section of the American Geophysical Union presentation "A closer look at high frequency bursts observed during the 1999 Chi-Chi, Taiwan earthquake".
