Seismology covers a broad range of scientific studies. It provides a tool of high resolution for probing the earth’s interior, and for quantitative studies of processes associated with earthquakes and faulting (among others). The focus of our seismological studies is on crustal seismology. Examples include surface-wave tomography, fault zone waveform tomography, strong motion studies, and inversions for earthquake source fields.
