The Master of Education educates professionals interested in improving learning and instruction in a variety of educational settings. In addition to enhancing one's own instructional abilities, most students in the program are preparing for careers developing programs, designing curriculum, or improving schools through instructional technology.
The M.E. Educational Psychology/Instructional Technology program focuses on learning and motivation, emphasizing the study of new information and performance technologies used to improve instruction among diverse student populations. A major objective is to learn how to diagnose and solve learning and motivation problems, especially those characteristic of urban learning settings. Students will be prepared to apply a wide range of computer and telecommunications technologies in achieving educational goals within school, community, corporate and public settings.
A minimum of 28 units is required. This program may be completed within 1-2 years.
