The Leader in Urban Education

Ph.D. Program | RSOE | USCWelcome to our website. Whether you are a prospective student or current student, a graduate or a colleague, or simply curious, we hope you will catch a glimpse of the excitement here at the USC Rossier School of Education.

Our innovative Ph.D. program is designed for students who are ready to study change as it happens and to contribute to the critical field of urban education as we translate findings into action. The emphasis of the program is Urban Education Policy and within this focus students select a concentration in Educational Psychology, Higher Education Administration and K-12 Leadership in Urban School Settings. As the home to four nationally-renowned research centers, our students graduate fully prepared for faculty positions at the nation’s top research universities. The program is full time and all members of the Ph.D. cohort receive full tuition remission and an academic stipend. This funding is provided for 4 years through multiple work experiences, allowing each Ph.D. student the opportunity to participate in research, teaching and study.

“The USC Rossier School of Education’s Ph.D. Program is training the next generation of faculty and educational researchers for the nation’s top universities.  Our own nationally renowned faculty nurture these future researchers who will have a dramatic impact on the field of education.  Moreover, our Ph.D. Program is committed to providing a superior academic experience, a superior learning environment and a superior student experience.”
