The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education (RSOE)
is to redefine excellence in urban education. To that end,
the Undergraduate and Teacher Education Programs are committed
to preparing future teacher leaders to use their knowledge
about learning, diversity, accountability and leadership
in order to maximize the impact on P-12 student development.
The mission of the Undergraduate
and Teacher Program is: To educate teachers who are able
to understand culture and its cognitive and social meanings
from different perspectives; to have flexibility to move
from one educational setting to another; to engage multiple
literacies; to use the tools of the culture, emphasizing
technology, as a vehicle for communication; and, to facilitate
learning for students in varying contexts.
The program has also adopted a technology-driven instructional
model. TE students benefit from
a variety of web-based learning tools, electronic portfolio
system, and integrated technology support throughout the
course of their training.
The RSOE is fully accredited by the California Commission
on Teacher Credentialing.
