Michelle Nayfack is a research associate with the Center on Educational Governance. She began the doctoral program in education at the University of Southern California in the fall of 2005. Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Columbia University and received her teaching credential from California State University, Northridge. Previously, Michelle taught both middle school and high school, the latter as a founding faculty member of the first start-up charter high school sponsored by the Los Angeles Unified School District. Her research interests include the role of philanthropy in education reform, charter schools, and urban educational policy.
