Strategic alliances are partnerships
between two or more organizations working together
to solve a problem or issue of mutual concern. Alliances
are often voluntary, enduring partnerships that involve
resource sharing and joint decision-making. Examples
of alliances in education include public-private partnerships
and school networks, such as charter school management
organizations.
CEG's work in this area focuses on studying
the use of alliances across the public, for-profit
and nonprofit sectors to improve the delivery of education
services. In the past, CEG also conducted research
on the Annenberg Challenge in Los Angeles, a reform
that used school networks as vehicles to improve student
achievement.
