Lucy Samuels
is an Office Manager at the Technology Transfer Center at USC‘s
School of Engineering. She is responsible for coordinating personnel/payroll
activities for department staff, overseeing confidential recording,
controlling equipment and supplies and coordinating automated information
systems, facilities and space planning for operations and staff
reporting to the executive director. She assists in developing and
coordinating department policies and procedures, reviews, analyzes
and makes recommendations to the Executive Director regarding requests
submitted by departmental staff (i.e. expenditure or personnel requests).
Reviews and prioritizes requested information and takes necessary
steps to address issues and resolve problems. She also monitors
status of pending items and follows-up as needed. Develops and administers
budget and gathers pertinent data to develop projections. Authorizes
expenditures within established limits. Tracks and monitors budget
activity and analyzes variances. Acts as liaison between the executive
director in sensitive, confidential or high profile contacts inside
and outside the department. Participates in proposal development
and contracts and grants administration. Interacts with university
contract administrators and agency representatives to provide information,
resolve questions or problems and coordinate on-site visits. Assists
the project director and project managers in overall operation and
administration of the marketing and outreach activities for the
ETTC's NASA Far West RTTC Program. This includes managing the contracts
and the contractual obligations (financial, monthly, quarterly and
final reports, metrics, etc.) of the eight Far West RTTC affiliates.
Promotes the services and/or products of the Far West RTTC to the
eight affiliates, keeps the affiliates informed in a timely manner
of the Center's activities.
