Brian Leon, USC ETTC Project Manager, has been elected to the
Board of Directors of the Technology Transfer Society (T2S). Mr. Leon was elected to a two-year term as Vice
President of Operations. The Technology
Transfer Society is a not-for-profit professional organization that was established in
1975. The Society is dedicated to sharing
methods, opportunities and schools of thought with the technology transfer community.
Member organizations find opportunities to promote their businesses and learn how to
incorporate technology transfer into their business strategies.
Mr. Leon was installed into
his new position at the 25th annual meeting of the T2S held in Austin, Texas in
July 2000. He succeeds Mr. Ken Dozier,
Executive Director of the USC ETTC, as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Dozier served in this capacity for the
previous two years. Mr. Leons official
duties include overseeing the Membership Committee and reporting its status to the Board. The purpose of the Membership Committee is to
execute the goals and objectives of a strategic plan in attracting and retaining members. Specifically, Mr. Leon will manage the T2S website
and membership database. Mr. Leon will also
assist in planning the annual and joint conferences.
USC ETTC is
the 1999 winner of the Technology Transfer Societys Justin Morrill Award, presented
for excellence in technology transfer. The national award is presented to an organization
that has an exemplary record on the transfer of technology and also has made outstanding
contributions to the theory and practices that are widely used by others. Previous winners of the award include Associated
Business Publications (publisher of NASA TechBriefs
magazine), the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer, U.S. Department of
Energy, Ford Motor Company, and 3M Corporation.
