Have you noticed the distinctive blue logo with the large capital T in the vertical gray bar on this web page? It is the logo of the Technology Transfer Society (T2S), a "not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to sharing methods, opportunities and schools of thought with the technology transfer community." The USC ETTC recently completed an ambitious redesign effort and is now the official host of the T2S web site. In addition to the redesign work and web site hosting, the USC ETTC will also be responsible for maintaining the look and feel of the T2S pages and for loading new content, provided by the T2S, onto the site. This collaboration between two influential technology transfer and commercialization organizations, was engineered by Ken Dozier, Executive Director of the USC ETTC, who also sits on the T2S Board of Directors as Vice President of Operations.
In Dozier's view, "The T2 Society is one of the few organizations that blends the commercial, educational and federal aspects of tech transfer. Since we are a NASA center located at a university and conducting commercial programs, it is the only place that offers the breadth of knowledge we need to stay competitive. The journal [the Society's Journal of Technology Transfer] is an excellent way to get broad issues in front of the tech transfer community. It is an honor to serve on the board and it is a pleasure to help advance our discipline"
Features of the T2S site that merit attention include background information on the Society, membership details (including a list of Society directors), current news items, descriptions of Society publications, a calendar of events and annual conference information. To visit the newly redesigned T2S web site, simply click on the blue T2S logo located on the USC ETTC web splash page (http://www.usc.edu/go/TTC). Susan Patow, President of the T2S, is pleased with the outcome of the collaboration with USC ETTC. "We have a really snazzy website that is very informative, easy to access and use and provides our members and friends with up-to-date information about the Tech Transfer Society and its events. Given the caliber of our membership and their focus on technological innovation, it only made sense to use the web as our primary communication tool. I have received numerous compliments about the site and quite honestly we are the envy of our peers. The USC ETTC staff has done an incredible job and we are most appreciative of their time, interest and envious of their talents. They are to be commended for their innovative design of the site and commitment to the Society."
