The major goal is to examine how intergenerational relationships
influence psychological, physical, and material well-being of family
members in the context of life-course transitions from early to
middle to late adulthood

The Well-being of the Elderly in Anhui Province, China

Principal Investigator: Merril Silverstein, Ph.D.
The major goal is study how economic change and migration of young
adults in rural China have affected the psychological well being of elderly
Chinese parents and grandparents.

Grandparents as Buffers of Social Change
Agency: National Science Foundation (Sociology)

The major goal is to compare supportive ties between grandparents
and grandchildren in divorced families with those in intact families
