Davies Named Member of Scientific Board of the Austrian Academy of Sciences
The USC Davis School’s Kelvin Davies will help guide the Austrian Academy in the governance of 40 institutes and centers
Kelvin J. A. Davies, a professor of molecular and computational biology and holder of the James E. Birren Chair of Gerontology at the USC Davis School of Gerontology, has been named a member of the scientific advisory board of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Davies has particular responsibility for advising the academy on its research programs in the biology of aging.
He made his first trip as an academy member Oct. 20-25, reviewing research programs in Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna.
Davies’ reports, and those of other members, will help guide the Austrian Academy in the governance of 40 institutes and centers, annual expenditure of some $30 million and research priorities.
