Jane Bensussen Wins 2009 President’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Leadership

USC Davis School of Gerontology Board Member Jane Bensussen received a President’s Award for outstanding volunteer leadership at the 2009 Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Sep. 25.

President Awards recognize outstanding contributions of volunteers for a sustained record of service, loyalty, dedication, and contribution to the USC Trojan Family.

With her husband Gale Bensussen, the 2005-2006 president of the USC Alumni Association, she has been a board member at the USC Davis School since 1998 and a supporter of the USC School of Pharmacy for more than 20 years, where they established the Jane and Gale Bensussen Translational Research Laboratory.

Also a Presidential associate and member of the Women of Troy, Bensussen was first introduced to the USC Alumni Association by her dear friend, Darlene Dufau Reid.  Through her involvement with the alumni group, she has become actively involved in the Trojan Guild of Los Angeles, the Trojan League of Los Angeles, Town and Gown of USC, the Alumnae Coordinating Council and the Association of Trojan Leagues.

She holds a master’s degree from the USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences, and is the immediate past-president of the Trojan Guild of Los Angeles and the chairperson for the 2010 USC Women’s Conference.
