I also work with the Chair of the committee, Assemblywoman Patty Berg on the development of the Master Plan on Aging.

Why did you choose to study gerontology at the USC Davis School?

My choice was based upon my interest in aging policy, with a significant push from USC alumni.

How did you learn about your current position? Was it through an internship, a previous job, or a connection through USC?

USC Gerontology networking has played a central role in each of the positions that I’ve held to-date. The fact that I have a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from USC has opened a number of doors.

Please briefly describe how the USC Davis School’s curriculum helped prepare you for your current position.

Aging policy isn’t a single subject area and the multidisciplinary nature of the program has helped me envision the global perspective of every issue, whether it’s healthcare, retirement financing, or transportation.

What advice would you offer to a prospective student interested in studying gerontology at USC?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions- every alumnus that I know is more than happy to talk about the program, their current job, and help prospective students, current students, and new graduates find their way.
