Maria Henke, M.A.
Assistant Dean

Maria Henke is currently the assistant dean of the University of Southern California Davis School of Gerontology. Holding progressively responsible positions within the world's premiere institution on aging education and research, she is currently charged with overseeing operations related to the school. In this role, she maintains all aspects of communication, including the school's website, print publications, community outreach programs and recruitment efforts.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education and research, she has been instrumental in the development of multimedia campaigns promoting healthy lifestyles, which include the nationally recognized web properties: homemods.org, stopfalls.org and ageworks.com. Henke also designed the curriculum for several pioneering distance learning programs in gerontology at the USC Davis School, including the Online Master of Arts in Gerontology, the Online Master's in Long Term Care Administration and, most recently, the Master in Aging Services Management. She has published several academic articles related to distance learning and senior use of the Internet. Her experience in aging, marketing and higher education has made her a sought-after expert in new market gerontology initiatives. Henke received her M.A. in Communication Management from the USC Annenberg School of Communication.
