Provides training and direction to student workers or lower level cashiers. Oversees cashier function and maintenance of stock. Provides operational support to other departments.

% Oversees cashier function and maintenance of stock.

% Provides direction and guidance to student workers or lower level cashiers and assists in their training and testing.

% Ensures that an adequate amount of cashiering supplies and cash are maintained at each register.

% Secures cash proceeds by removing excess cash from registers and ensuring that cash is transported in a secure manner. Assists in researching significant register shortages.

% Ensures adherence to department policies and procedures and provides input to operating procedures.

% Provides operational support to other departments by issuing money bags, change and supplies.

% Oversees stocking of merchandise.
Emergency response/recovery:    
In the event of an emergency, the employee holding this position is required to "report to duty" in accordance with the university's emergency operations plan and/or the employee's department's emergency response and/or recovery plans. Familiarity with those plans and regular training to implement those plans is required. During or immediately following an emergency, the employee will be notified to assist in the emergency response efforts, and mobilize other staff members if needed.
