Mandated Harassment Prevention Training for Faculty and Staff Supervisors

All new faculty and staff supervisors are required to complete the 2-hr online harassment prevention training.

From your date of hire, you will have 60 days to complete your training.

You will receive an email from Workplace Answers including your personalized link to complete the training.

Harassment Prevention Training FAQs

What is my username and password?

    Workplace Answers provides a personalized link to your training, this means that there is no username/password. To access/return to your training, please do the following:

  1. Click on your personalized link
  2. Click on "launch training" do NOT click on "resume training" otherwise, it will ask for a username/password. All of your progress will be saved automatically.
  3. If you are logged off or not to return to it at a later time, simply return to this email and follow steps 1-2.

    Who needs to complete the mandatory Harassment Prevention Training?
  • All full-time and part-time faculty
  • All Supervisors:
    • All Staff who supervise other employees, students or temporary workers
    • All Student Worker Supervisors
  • Note: These groups of employees are required by law to complete the 120-minute online training provided by Workplace Answers

Who must read the Harassment Prevention Brochure?

  • Non-Supervisory Staff
  • All Teaching Assistants
  • All Volunteer faculty

Is the Harassment Prevention Brochure being tracked?

No, it is based on the honor system. No certificate or links will be provided for this population. The brochure can be accessed here: English | Español

When do I need to complete training?

For all existing faculty and supervisors, the 2013 Harassment Prevention Training must be completed during the training period of February 1, 2013 to February 28, 2013.

All new faculty and supervisors starting after February 1, 2013 will have 60 days to complete the training from date of hire.

Where can I find my personalized link?

  • For all existing faculty and supervisors, you will receive a personalized link via e-mail from our vendor Workplace Answers during the first week of February.
  • New faculty and supervisors starting after February 1, 2013, will receive a personalized link via email two weeks after the date of hire.
  • Note: You can also access your Harassment prevention Training via your eTrac account by clicking on “Harassment Prevention Training” link in the main menu.

Do I need to complete my training in one sitting?

No, you can complete the training in multiple sessions. If you log off, please make sure to go back to your email from Workplace Answers with your personalized link. You can't bookmark this link.

Where can I sign up for live sessions?

Note that the online version is the preferred version. However, live seminars will be available to those that have challenges completing the training online. Please visit our website at: www.usc.edu/harassmentawareness for dates/locations.

Technical tips:

    Please make sure you follow the following technical tips for successful completion of the online harassment prevention training:

  • Disable all pop up blockers
  • Verify that the latest version of FLASH is installed on your computer
  • Use Internet Explorer or Safari browsers. Firefox does not work well for this training [need to varify this]
  • Click on the blue course title that appears on the "My Training Registry" page (the first screen after you launch the training) to start the course
  • Press the "F11" button for full screen view (the arrows to advance the training after it is launched can be accessed on the lower right of the screen

FAQs for IAP

Where can I find my IAP link?

Click on the IAP portal. You will have to Login with your USC NetID. Once you are in the portal, click “Reports and Registrations” you will see your department name. You will be automatically redirected to the Workplace Answers website. From this point, you can download reports or track your out-of-compliance employees. For additional information please review the IAP Training part 1 and 2 located in the IAP portal.

How to help employees find their personalized link?

    If a Faculty or Supervisor cannot locate their personalized link from Workplace Answers, you can:

  • Direct employee to eTrac [!]: They will find their personalized link by clicking on the Harassment Prevention” link in the main menu
  • Retrieve employee's link from Workplace Answers: Email employee their personalized link via the IAP portal. You will then be able to access the Workplace Answers website, which will allow you to search by your employee name. You will then be able to copy/paste their personalized link
  • For additional information please review the IAP Training part 1 and 2 located in the IAP portal

How to generate an out-of-compliance report?

  • Access your IAP account
  • Download the Excel spreadsheet from the Workplace Answers Website
  • Sort the Excel spreadsheet for your out-of-compliant employees (greater than 60 days from date of hire)
  • For additional information please review the IAP Training part 1 and 2 located in the IAP portal

What is the deadline for employees to complete the training?

For all existing faculty and supervisors, the 2013 Harassment Prevention Training must be completed during the training period of February 1, 2013 – February 28, 2013.

All new faculty and supervisors starting after February 1, 2013 will have 60 days to complete the training from date of hire.

When is an employee considered out-of-compliance?

An employee is considered out-of-compliance 60 days after their hiring date.

Is the Harassment Prevention Brochure being tracked?
