Education

Jim obtained his B.S. in Ceramic Science from Pennsylvania State University and M.S degrees in Ceramic Science (Pennsylvania State University), Metallurgy (University of Pittsburgh), and Industrial Engineering (University of Pittsburgh). He additionally has an M.B.A in Acquisitions & Contracts (University of Dallas) and has completed Certificates in Project Management (University of California - Irvine) and Professional Fitness (California State University - Long Beach).

 
Experience

Jim has over 30 years of industrial experience working for Alcoa, Colt Industries, LTV Aerospace and the Boeing Company.  In his present position he is an engineering director in the Systems Engineering Function at the Huntington Beach Site.  He is responsible for developing people, processes and tools for mission & architecture development, requirements definition & management, operations and systems analysis, modeling & simulation, system integration & verification, affordability, risk management, specifications, mission assurance, reliability and systems safetyThe Site supports such programs as Shuttle/ Space Station, Future Combat System, Homeland Security, X-37, Global Positioning Satellite, Orbital Express, Space Exploratory Projects, Wave Rider (X-51A), Hyper X (X-43A) and Proprietary programs.  Previously he also led the Systems Engineering efforts for the Phantom Works Southern California region and the Engineering Program./ Project Management organization.  . Other positions held in Boeing included Project Manager for the Shuttle Product Acquisition Team, responsible for all the Shuttle Orbiter analytical and hardware change proposals and its related IRAD studies, and Senior Manager of Systems Engineering Services and Systems Effectiveness.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Project Management Institute (PMI), International Council of Systems Engineers (INCOSE), and National Management Association (NMA).
